Burglary reported in Penn State residence hall

Penn State police said a laptop computer was stolen late Tuesday night from an unlocked campus dorm room.

The burglary at Hartranft Hall in the Pollock Halls residence complex happened between 11:35 and 11:42 p.m., said university police, who are required to publicly disclose burglaries according to the federal Clery Act.

Police said they are looking for two suspects, both of whom are described as black, college-aged men.

Police said one of the men is 6-foot-4 with a skinny build and short black hair. He was seen wearing a green shirt and shorts.

The second man stands about 5-foot-11 with a stocky build, short black hair and a short beard, police said. He was seen wearing a white shirt with shorts, possibly tan, and possibly a white hat.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 863-1111 or go online to police.psu.edu and click on “Silent Witness.” Tips can be sent to Centre County Crimestoppers at tip@centrecountycrimestoppers.org, and those who provide information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
