Police: Man attempts to rob Citgo in Snow Shoe Township

From CDT staff reportsAugust 15, 2013

— State police at Rockview said a Citgo gas station here was robbed at gunpoint early Thursday.

A man entered the store at about 1 a.m., waved a pistol and demanded money. When the store attendant shouted, the suspect ran from the store, police said.

Police said a store attendant described the suspect as 5-foot-7 and in his early 20s. The man had a “chin-strap type beard,” the clerk told police, and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Police said the man entered the Citgo and asked for cigars. When a customer came into the store, the suspect went to the cooler. After the customer left, the man returned to the counter and asked for cigarettes, police said.

When the employee turned around, the man was holding the gun and “stated that he needed money,” police reported.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rockview station at 355-7545.
