Letter to the editor | Helpers saved the day

August 20, 2013

As I prepared to set out for the Bellefonte Arts and Crafts Fair with my daughter, my three young grandchildren and two strollers, I did have some concerns as to how we would navigate through Talleyrand Park.

It wasn’t long before the bridge, with its many steps, loomed ahead of us.

We no sooner reached the steps when smiling festivalgoers came right up to help carry the strollers — with children — up and down steps. Each time we approached additional steps, people were there to help.

Our helpers ranged from teenagers to senior citizens. Thanks to all who helped us and many others with strollers have a wonderful day at the fair.
