— A worker at the Uni-Mart on College Avenue was cut and injured when she was attacked outside the store in broad daylight during an apparent armed robbery, State College police said Tuesday.

Police said the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the 1381 E. College Ave. convenience store. Investigators were searching for the alleged attacker late Tuesday afternoon.

The employee reported being confronted in the parking lot outside the store by a young white male with scruffy facial hair and wearing dark clothing.

Police said the woman was carrying money from the store in a bag, which the suspect took during the robbery. Investigators did not say how much money was in the bag.

The woman had superficial injuries to her arm that police said were made by a cutting device. It’s not clear what type of weapon the suspect used. The employee was evaluated at the scene, but was not transported for treatment.

She said the suspect fled on foot east after the attack.

Police said they were processing the scene Tuesday afternoon, and had no further update.
