State College police: Video contradicts Uni-Mart employee’s robbery allegations

State College police said video surveillance footage disputes a Uni-Mart employee’s report that she was attacked and robbed Tuesday.

Police said video from the store’s parking lot shows the woman alone and does not show an armed robbery.

The woman had told police she was confronted in the parking lot around 1:30 p.m. by an unknown man she said cut her arm with a weapon and stole a money-deposit bag.

Police searched for a suspect after the reported assault Tuesday, but now say they do not think there is need for public concern.

No charges had been filed in the case by Wednesday afternoon. Police said the investigation will continue.
