Penn State student reportedly raped early Friday in downtown State College residence

Penn State police are investigating a reported sexual assault that allegedly occurred early Friday in a downtown State College residence.

Police said a Penn State student reported being sexually assaulted by an individual who was known to the victim. The suspect is also a Penn State student.

Police issued the following advice:

•  Do not walk alone. Please call 814-865-WALK, for a free security escort;

•  Report suspicious behavior to University Police immediately; and

•  If you feel you are in an unsafe environment, get to a safe place immediately and call for help.
