Labor Day pools close for the summer at 8 p.m.

•  Sept. 8

CRPR “Aqua Dog Day,” to benefit tree planting at Oak Hall Regional Park, 1-4 p.m., Park Forest Pool; dogs must be on a leash; only dogs in the pool.

•  Sept. 14

Youth Cross-Country Run No. 1 for youth age 14 and under

No fee, State College Area High School Cross-country course, Circleville Park. Easiest access to the cross-country course is off Valley Vista Drive at Little Lion Drive (Haugh Tract entrance).

Youth ages 8 and under run 2K (1.2 miles), 8:30 a.m.; youth ages 9-12 run 3K (1.8 miles), 9 a.m.; and youth ages 13-14 run 4K (2.4 miles), 9:30 a.m. Arrive at least a half-hour before your race to register. Contact Greg Fredericks (466-6976) or Liz Kisenwether (571-3487).
