UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State has lost a defensive back.
Freshman safety Neiko Robinson is no longer with the football team and will not return, head coach Bill O’Brien confirmed on Tuesday.
Robinson’s exit did not come because of disciplinary issues, O’Brien said. The freshman who last played for Northview (Fla.) High, missed the first six games of his senior high school season after he was involved in a fight during a preseason game.
Robinson, at 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, was rated as the top safety prospect in his state for the 2013 recruiting class.
