Penn State basketball: Lady Lions set Big Ten schedule

— The Penn State women’s basketball team announced its Big Ten schedule on Tuesday.

The slate begins Jan. 5 at Iowa, with the home conference opener against Purdue on Jan. 12.

As part of the 16-game Big Ten slate, Penn State will face five Big Ten foes twice and will only have one meeting each with Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin at home only, and Illinois, Michigan State, Nebraska away only

The team’s annual Pink Zone game will be Feb. 16 against Wisconsin. Ohio State visits Jan. 16. The Lady Lions will be a part of ESPN2’s Big Monday with a visit to Nebraska on Feb. 24, and the regular season closes March 1 with Senior Day against Michigan.

Other television arrangements will be announced later.

The non-conference schedule was announced earlier, with the Lady Lions opening with an exhibition game against Lock Haven on Oct. 27, and the season opener Nov. 8 against St. Francis.

The Lady Lions finished last season 26-6 overall and 14-2 in winning the Big Ten title.
