State College man crashes car into Trout Road farm building, arrested on suspicion of DUI

From CDT staff reportsAugust 29, 2013

A State College man was arrested on suspicion of DUI early Monday after police said he crashed his car into a farm building on Trout Road in College Township.

State College police said 21-year-old Jonathan Palacios lost control of his Mitsubishi Lancer around a curve on the road, crashed through a wooden fence and livestock water supply and into the building around 3 a.m.

Police said the water supply was ripped from a concrete pad and the fence and building were destroyed.

Police said a witness saw Palacios leave the area after the crash, but police said Palacios returned 20 minutes later and told them he’d had alcohol.

Palacios allegedly told police he crashed while trying to see what his car could do, and later added he crashed on purpose and hoped that officers would assault him so he could file a lawsuit, investigators wrote in a crash report.

Police said the investigation will continue pending blood-alcohol test results.

Palacios has not been charged.
