Lock Haven couple accused of Best Buy thefts

From CDT staff reportsAugust 30, 2013

A Lock Haven couple is behind bars in Centre County and face charges of retail theft after police said they stole two laptop computers from Best Buy in Ferguson Township.

Police said Jason Tressler Sr., 33, and Brandy Hubbard, 35, stole an Asus laptop on two separate occasions in June over three days. Police said each computer was worth $485.

According to the charging documents, Tressler and Hubbard headed straight for the computer aisle after going into the store on June 12 and June 14. Police said the couple took the computers off the shelves, concealed them and left the store.

A Best Buy employee told police the laptops set off the exit’s alarm, but the couple didn’t stop either time.

In both incidents, police said the two were in the store for only 3 minutes.

Tressler is in jail on $15,000 straight bail, while Hubbard’s bail is set at $10,000 straight. They are due in court for preliminary hearings on Wednesday.
