Police investigate alleged rape, unlawful restraint

State Police at Rockview are investigating a July rape and unlawful restraint of a 50-year-old woman, according to police reports.

The alleged incident happened overnight between July 25 and 26, police said. The woman and the 49-year-old male suspect apparently knew each other, according to Rockview police; however the male forced the woman into his car, drove from Bellefonte to a motel near Shamokin Dam in Snyder County, and allegedly forced the woman to have sex with him, police said.

Rockview police continue to investigate the incident.
