Bellefonte man charged after firing shot on highway

From CDT staff reportsSeptember 4, 2013

A Bellefonte man was charged after firing his gun into the air on state Route 64 in Porter Township, Clinton County, as the people in another vehicle were trying to read his license plate, state police in Lamar said.

Joseph William Seyler, 31, allegedly illegally passed Ronald Dean Beck, 54, and Tyler Francis Kessiner, 20, both of Mill Hall, about 11 p.m. Aug. 25, police said. When Beck tried to get close enough to read the license plate on Seyler’s 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, Seyler fired a shot from his .327 caliber revolver into the air from his driver’s side window, according to police.

Police interviewed Seyler at his home and found the .327 with five bullets in the revolver, they said.

Seyler was arrested and charged with simple assault, propulsion of missiles onto a roadway and recklessly endangering another person.
