Two Philipsburg-area bridges to open Friday, following replacements

From CDT staff reportsSeptember 5, 2013

Two Philipsburg-area bridges, one in Centre County and one in Clearfield County, will open Friday after state Department of Transportation projects that replaced them.

The Centre County bridge is just northeast of Philipsburg, on Loch Lomond Road. It spans One Mile Run and carries about 300 vehicles per day. Crews are replacing the temporary road that’s been in place since July, according to a PennDOT press release.

Both lanes of that bridge will open Friday, following completion of the $870,000 replacement project.

The Clearfield County bridge is east of West Decatur on Pleasant Hill Road. It spans Laurel Run and carries an average of 1,000 vehicles per day. Once the bridge reopens, the detour around the site will be lifted. That replacement project was completed at a $1 million cost.
