From CDT staff reportsSeptember 8, 2013

— A State College man was sentenced Friday to a minimum of one year in a state prison for having sex with a teenage girl.

Guilber Mercado-Mojica, 23, had pleaded guilty to one count of corruption of minors, and as part of a plea deal, one count each of unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility were withdrawn.

Mercado-Mojica’s defense attorney, Tami Fees, said her client had not been found to be a sexually violent predator.

The upper limit of his state sentence is five years, according to what Judge Jonathan Grine ordered.
