A Snow Shoe man is behind bars after state police said he tried to force a woman into a sexual act and then drove away drunk from her residence Sunday night.

Mark Soster, 52, showed up at the woman’s apartment, where he pulled down his pants and exposed himself at her, state police said in the charging documents. Police said Soster grabbed the woman’s hair, forced her toward his genitals, and her face hit the floor.

The woman got away and locked herself in her residence, police said, and Soster stood in the driveway, exposing his genitals while dancing on his car. Police said Soster drove off, but came back and pounded on the door, trying to get into the residence.

After Soster left the second time, an officer who had been dispatched to the incident pulled him over on state Route 144 at Beech Creek Road.

Police said the officer smelled alcohol coming from Soster’s car, and the officer saw six empty beer cans on the floor behind the driver’s seat.

Police said Soster failed sobriety tests at the scene, so he was taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center for a blood test.

Soster has been charged with DUI, attempted indecent assault, simple assault, indecent assault, and summary counts of harassment and disorderly conduct. He’s being held in the Centre County Correctional Facility on $25,000 straight bail awaiting a preliminary hearing next week.
