WINGATE — Clearfield broke open a tight game with two late second-half goals to defeat Bald Eagle Area 3-0 on Monday.
Aaron Angstadt’s goal 2:41 into the game was the only scoring until Zach Fox (62:07) and Jack Soult (76:25) broke through.
Both teams had many scoring chances as BEA fired 16 shots and the Bison had 24.
“We had great opportunities,” BEA coach Jason Bair said. “We just couldn’t finish them. We have a young team. They’re doing well and getting better every game.”
Keeper Alex Boyer stopped 18 shots for the Eagles (1-4). Keith Biancuzzo had four saves for Clearfield.
