Boys’ soccer: Central drops Penns Valley

September 10, 2013

— Central scored three times inside the first eight minutes of the second half to rally past Penns Valley 3-1 on Monday.

Robert Stattel’s goal 16 minutes into the game had given the Rams (1-5) a 1-0 halftime lead. Jacob Mellott scored twice and Rodolfo Santos added another goal early in the second half to erase the Rams’ lead.

“Except for mental breakdowns at the beginning of second half, it was a pretty even match,” said Penns Valley coach Scott Case, whose team will try to bounce back against Huntingdon on Wednesday.
