Penn State soccer: Nittany Lion women roll past Bucknell

— Penn State got the offense revved up early Tuesday night as the Nittany Lion women’s soccer team raced away from Bucknell 6-0 at Emmitt Field at Holmes Stadium.

Mallory Weber scored the first of her two goals just 1:59 into the contest on one of three assists for Raquel Rodriguez to start the offensive showcase for the No. 14 Nittany Lions. Penn State finished with a 30-9 advantage in shots, including 13-4 in shots on goal.

Emily Hurd, Maya Hayes and Cory Persson also scored as Penn State built a 5-0 lead by halftime. Liv Brandy scored off a corner kick in the second half for the Nittany Lions (4-1-1). The goal for Hayes was her team-leading sixth of the season. Hayes, Taylor Schram, Whitney Church and Mallory Peterson also had assists.

Britt Eckerstrom, Meghan Kaminski and Lexi Golestani all saw time in goal and combined for four saves and the shutout.

Penn State visits Oklahoma State on Friday.
