Cross country: Little Lions nip Huskies

September 11, 2013

— State College narrowly edged Mifflin County 30-26 in Tuesday’s dual meet in Lewistown. The Huskies’ Darien Knudsen notched the day’s best time (17:48), but the Little Lions’ Kyle Sutherland finished sixth just ahead of Mifflin County’s Trent Yoder, which ultimately gave State College the victory.

“Today the guys ran really well,” said State College head coach David Felice. “They couldn’t have executed better. It was 95 degrees and it turned into a survival test.”

Nick Feffer (18:31) finished second and had the Little Lions’ best time. Kevin Drago (18:32) finished third. Felice rested his top five runners for Friday’s Spike Shoe Invitational at Penn State.
