September 11, 2013

— With four of the top five runners, Mifflin County edged State College 20-37 Tuesday.

Amanda Hassinger completed the 5-kilometer course with the fastest time of 22 minutes, 31 seconds for the Huskies at Indian Valley Elementary School.

Leading the way for the Lady Little Lions were Alyssa Valent, who was third in 23:17, and Madison Krieger, who was sixth in 24:11. Julia Krawczyk (seventh) and Jeannie Drago (10th) also were in the top 10.

“I was really pleased with how they stepped it up,” State College coach Rebecca Donaghue said. “They definitely threatened Mifflin County. They went out hard and went for it.”
