From CDT staff reportsSeptember 17, 2013

A Bellefonte woman is accused of threatening to kill a man with a knife and assaulting him after a domestic dispute early Sunday morning.

Ashley Shirk, 26, is charged with making terroristic threats and simple assault and is being held in the county jail on $5,000.

When police arrived at the apartment around 2:50 a.m., they heard someone say, “Ashley, put the knife down,” according to the charging document.

The man told police he and Shirk had been arguing and she hit him in the mouth, kicked him and slapped him. The man told police he felt threatened when Shirk grabbed a kitchen knife and said she’d kill him.

Shirk is scheduled for a preliminary hearing next week.
