Boys’ soccer: Bald Eagle Area falls to Belleville Mennonite

September 17, 2013

— Belleville Mennonite’s Andrew Miller scored twice to lead a 3-1 victory over Bald Eagle Area on Monday.

The Eagles (1-6) trailed by two goals late in the first half before Brandon Gettig converted a pass from Chris Dunklebarger to make the score 2-1 at the break. Miller’s breakaway goal was the lone score in the second half.

“My guys played a really nice game,” BEA coach Jason Bair said. “We just had a little bit of a problem putting the ball in back of net. ... We’ll keep plugging away and try to get better every day.”

Alex Boyer had eight saves for the Eagles, who were outshot 22-12. Austin Byler added a goal for Belleville Mennonite.

BEA hosts Penns Valley at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
