Girls’ tennis: State College blanks Gettysburg

September 17, 2013

— State College players did not drop a set as the Lady Little Lions blanked Gettysburg 5-0 on Monday.

The match was played at East Pennsboro High School to cut the travel time for Gettysburg.

The Lady Little Lions (9-1) got straight-set singles wins from No. 1 Cathy Badding (6-3, 6-2), No. 2. Juliette Greer (6-4, 6-2) and No. 3 Amy Poissant (6-4, 6-1)

No. 1 doubles team Callan Glover and Lacey Schroeder fought to a 6-3, 7-5 win, while Tatum Stauffe and Kendall Allen rolled 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2.

“It took a while for the girls to settle in to their matches today but it was nice to be able to rest some players and to give others an opportunity to play,” State College coach Jane Borden said.
