Scholastic Volleyball: Penns Valley stops Bald Eagle Area

— Chelsea Emel pounded down 20 kills and the Lady Rams racked up the service winners as Penns Valley upended Bald Eagle Area 25-10, 17-25, 25-23, 25-21 Thursday night.

“The girls played well,” Lady Rams coach Sei Hee Hwang said. “They fought hard at the end of each set.”

Ashley Struble led the way from the service line with five aces while Emel and Tangie Lyons each added four. Lyons also had 38 assists while Courtney Dix and Kayla Bracken had seven and six kills, respectively.

BEA, which was missing top hitter Nicole Doroschenko, got seven kills each from Chelsea Eisenhuth and Tylor Yarison, 17 assists from Jessica Bressler, eight digs from Sarah Torres and two aces apiece from Torres, Hannah Park and Jenny Zimmerman.
