State College man pleads guilty for shooting police car with paintballs

A State College man who was shooting paintballs at passing cars and picked the wrong vehicle — a police cruiser — has pleaded guilty in the case.

James T. Dreibelbis, 22, pleaded to a misdemeanor charge of propulsion of missiles onto roadways during a scheduled pretrial conference Thursday in Centre County Court.

Police wrote in charging documents that Dreibelbis had a few drinks and was shooting paintballs from the balcony of his Martin Street home around 1 a.m., Friday, July 19.

A Ferguson Township police officer was driving by when his vehicle was struck on the windshield and passenger’s side.
