Letter to the editor | Make a difference in your community

September 20, 2013

If even in a children’s book — Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” — it states, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.”

What great causes do you care about and what are you willing to do?

There are many things to be passionate about — from sharing the Gospel to working with children, feeding the hungry, working with the homeless or elder population to volunteering with your favorite charity.

I look around and see a community in need, my community.

There are a million excuses not to do anything: I don’t have the time or money; don’t know where to start; feel like you alone can’t make a difference.

If we all did nothing, where would we be? I know what I am willing to do. I know that, in some small way, I am making a difference.

Can you say the same?
