September 22, 2013

An Osceola Mills man is in the Clearfield County jail after police said he carried firearms near an elementary school Friday night.

David Johnson, 44, was reported passed out in the Osceola Mills Elementary School parking lot about 9:50 p.m. Friday. Police found him about a block from the school and said Johnson left five unloaded handguns near the school and was in possession of two knives.

Johnson is charged with illegal possession of guns and carrying firearms without a license, both felonies. He is also charged with possession of a weapon on school property and reckless endangerment, both misdemeanors, and public drunkenness.

Johnson was arraigned and jailed on $50,000 straight bail.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
