Former Penns Valley athlete Matt Brooker was named the Cedarville Male Athlete of the Week after winning the Cedarville Friendship Invitational cross country race on Saturday.
It was the second time Brooker, last year’s NCAA Division II Cross Country and Cedarville all-sports Athlete of the Year, has won the event, and Cedarville also won the event as a team. He covered the muddy 8,000-meter course in a time of 24 minutes, 58 seconds for the Yellow Jackets, who are ranked No. 14 in NCAA Division II.
Colton Myers (State College, Juniata) has seven catches for 114 yards and a touchdown.
Michael John (Philipsburg-Osceola, Juniata) has carried the ball 24 times for 111 yards and a touchdown. Juniata beat Gettysburg 38-16 on Saturday, the first time the Eagles have beaten the Bullets at Huntingdon since 1976. Juniata is now 3-0.
Kurt Walker (P-O, Shippensburg) has seven solo tackles and four assists. Shippensburg is 1-2.
Colby Way (State College, Buffalo) has seven solo tackles and six assists, three tackles for loss for minus-13 yards and one sack for minus-7 yards. Buffalo is 1-2.
Alex Boumerhi (P-O, Lock Haven) has kicked two field goals in three attempts and has made 6 of 7 PAT attempts.
Bernard Smack (State College, Lock Haven) has two receptions for 26 yards and has returned six kickoffs for 87 yards. Lock Haven is 2-1.
Zach Czap (P-O, Lycoming) has converted 11 of 12 PAT attempts. He has not attempted a field goal to date. He is averaging 39.1 yards on 15 punts and 53.1 yards on 11 kickoffs. Lycoming is 2-1.
Sam Rodgers (State College, Syracuse) continues to start as the long snapper for the Orangemen (2-2).

John Crowe (State College, Susquehanna) was 33rd in 26:10.30 at Lock Haven, where Susquehanna finished fourth.
Ryan Brown (Penns Valley, Robert Morris) ran a time of 25:51.11, good for 62nd place, at the Furman Invitational, where Robert Morris placed eighth out of nine teams.
Brian Charles (State College, Goshen College) shot an 85-80—165 in the Battle of Blackthorn in last weekend.
Christopher Borden (State College, George Mason) was part of two doubles wins during last weekend’s Mason Invitational.
Blake Gregory (State College, East Carolina) won a singles match, and split two doubles matches at the ECU Fall Shootout last weekend.
