September 25, 2013

The man charged in relation to a robbery at the Nittany Budget Motel early Wednesday will face charges related to two other incidents, according to Ferguson Township police.

Police on Wednesday afternoon arrested 25-year-old Jonathan Tenalio on charges related to a robbery at the Nittany Budget Motel on Cato Avenue.

On Thursday afternoon, police said Tenalio also will face charges related to the robbery of The Cove New York Style Pizzeria in College Township and the burglary of Doan’s Bones Barbecue in Huntingdon County. Both incidents occurred earlier this week.

Police said the motel incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when a man wearing a military-style coat displayed a handgun and demanded money from the motel desk clerk. After obtaining less than $100, he left the area on foot.

Police said an informant provided information leading to Tenalio’s arrest. His address is unknown, and he was arrested at the residence of an acquaintance in Benner Township. He is charged with robbery, theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and receiving stolen property.

Tenalio was arraigned Wednesday night by District Judge Leslie Dutchcot on the motel charges and is being held at the Centre County Correctional Facility in leiu of $150,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 2.
