Lock Haven man charged in Pleasant Gap burglary, check theft

From CDT staff reportsSeptember 30, 2013

— A Lock Haven man has been charged with breaking into PAMP Printing in Pleasant Gap over the past two weeks and cashing stolen payroll checks and stealing petty cash.

Scotty Lucas, 38, was arrested Friday on felony counts of burglary, trespassing, and forgery and several misdemeanor charges.

Spring Township police said Lucas admitted to cashing two checks worth $1,159.31 and $275 in cash on a Friday night when no one was at the print shop. When an officer asked Lucas why he allegedly did those things, Lucas said he has drug issues, according to the charging document.

Police said Lucas got into the print shop by using a key to the front door. Lucas had taken two blank payroll checks that he had not cashed, police said.

Lucas is being held in the Centre County Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail and is awaiting a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
