Flyers sign Gill

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - The Philadelphia Flyers signed defenseman Hal Gill to a one-year contract on Tuesday.

Gill, 38, attended Flyers training camp on a professional try-out. He appeared in three preseason games, recording two assists.

Last season he appeared in 32 games for the Nashville Predators, failing to record any points.

Entering his 16th NHL season, Gill has 36 goals and 148 assists to go along with 960 penalty minutes in 1,102 games with the Bruins, Maple Leafs, Penguins, Canadiens and Predators.
