Boys’ soccer: Bellefonte uses early goals to sink Penns Valley

— The Bellefonte boys’ soccer team struck quickly against Penns Valley on Tuesday afternoon, building an early lead en route to a 4-2 victory.

Tyler Rudloff scored twice and Matt Horner once in the game’s opening 15 minutes to put the Red Raiders comfortably in front. Horner finished with a goal and two assists.

“I encouraced the guys before game — they have to finish their shots,” Raiders coach Scott Martz said. “We were very aggressive at the begining of the game. Horner stepped up. He really played well for us tonight.”

Grant Stone completed the scoring for Bellefonte (6-4-1), and Addison Nolte picked up an assist.

Andrew Deardorff converted a penalty kick, and an own goal accounted for the other score for the Rams (4-9).

Matt Feldman made six saves for the Raiders, while his counterpart Tiger Welch stopped six shots.
