Lemont man faces trial on false sexual allegations against corrections officers

October 2, 2013

David A. Adewumi

A Lemont man charged with making false sexual assault allegations against corrections officers in the county jail will now face trial on the charges.

David Adewumi, 25, was ordered held for trial on the false report charges after a preliminary hearing Wednesday.

State police said Adewumi lied when he told authorities he was sexually assaulted on separate occasions in August while in the Centre County Correctional Facility.

Adewumi told authorities that guards touched his genitals while he was handcuffed and in a restraint chair, according to police.

Troopers wrote in charging documents that they reviewed video recordings of the incidents and determined there were no assaults.
