Kelly Seward and Bowman scored in the first period for Penn State. Gina Repaci and Dayna Colang scored for Vermont.

The Catamounts outshot Penn State 39-22.

“It was a terrific team effort today,” PSU coach Josh Brandwene said. “We did a great job bouncing back a number of times early and showed good poise in the third period. I’m very pleased with the improvements we made and looking forward to more continued progress from this team.”

The Nittany Lions return to the ice at Quinnipiac on Friday.
