Girls soccer: Powell’s hat trick paces Philipsburg-Osceola in win over Bald Eagle Area

— After spotting Bald Eagle Area the first-half lead, Jordyn Powell’s hat trick helped lift Philipsburg-Osceola to a 3-2 win Tuesday afternoon.

Madelynn Holderman netted the early goal for the Lady Eagles before Powell began to strike.

Powell scored first on a direct kick 10:46 into the second half, then scored again a little over 10 minutes later. Makayla Donley’s corner kick was volleyed in by Morgan Nyman to knot up the game again, but Powell delivered again from long range with 6:47 left to give the Lady Mounties the win.

Carley Hahn made 12 saves for P-O (5-8, 5-7 Mountain League), which was outshot 15-5, while Julia Breining stopped a pair of shots for BEA.
