Girls soccer: Huntingdon edges Penns Valley

From CDT staff reportsOctober 9, 2013

— Kate Thurston-Griswold scored with nine seconds left to lead Huntingdon over Penns Valley 2-1 on Tuesday.

“This was a hard-fought battle from beginning to end,” Lady Rams coach Jeff Smucker said. “Both defenses played well. It was a tough one to lose in the last few seconds, but the girls played well and we can take a lot of positives away from this one.”

Penns Valley trailed 1-0 going into halftime but Cheyenne Swartz tied the game up for the Lady Rams at the 60:56 mark. Lauren Eberly had the assist on Swartz’s goal.

The Lady Bearcats’ first goal was scored by Rachel Fleming.
