Boys’ soccer: Philipsburg-Osceola earns late win over Huntingdon

October 11, 2013

— Austin Krise finished off a dramatic win for Philipsburg-Osceola, scoring with 1:16 left in regulation for a 2-1 victory over Huntingdon on Thursday.

Hunter Honan, with help from Krise, had scored early in the second half for a 1-0 Mounties lead.

Matt Wilson then pounced on a rebound after a free kick to beat P-O keeper Mitch Winters with 1:49 left to knot the match.

The Mounties patiently worked the ball up the field after the ensuing kickoff, and Honan’s throw-in left Krise one-on-one with keeper Martin Berger for the winner.

“They’re trying to give me a heart attack,” P-O coach Shawn Inlow said. “That’s the third time this eyar they strung their passes together and worked it up the field for a score. They got their chance and they capitalized.”

Winters made four saves, while Berger stopped 10 shots.
