October 15, 2013

— Penn State’s Martin Seiler was named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after helping the Nittany Lions earn a key win over Michigan last Friday.

The redshirt senior defensive anchor scored on a penalty kick and kept the Wolverines away from the net until seven minutes remained in the 3-1 victory to earn his first weekly conference honor.

The Nittany Lions (8-3-1, 3-0) heads to No. 18 Michigan State on Sunday.
