Police identify woman in fatal wreck Saturday

— State police identified the victim of a fatal car accident in Henderson Township overnight Saturday.

Sydnee Alexis Ellis, 18, of Williamsport, was killed when her 2004 Suzuki Forenza hit a deer on William Penn Highway, crossed the median and struck a semi-trailer late Saturday in Henderson Township, state police in Huntingdon reported.

Ellis was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Ellis was traveling west near Pike Run Drive at 10:58 p.m. Saturday when she hit the deer then careened into the path of an eastbound semi-trailer driven Edwin Michael Shaver, 55, of Maryland.

State police were assisted at the scene by PennDOT, Mapleton Fire Department, Mill Creek Fire Department, Huntingdon Regional Fire Department, Huntingdon EMS, Park’s Towing and Eagle Recovery.
