State College Army Corps of Engineers office closes due to shutdown

From CDT staff reportsOctober 16, 2013

The Baltimore District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has temporarily closed its regulatory office — including one in State College — due to the continuing federal government shutdown.

Review of pending permit applications has been suspended until new funding becomes available. Staff were furloughed and will not attend meetings, presentations or outreach events.

The Corps’ regulatory branch makes permit decisions for development projects impacting water and wetlands.
