State College Girl Scout troop to offer native plants Oct. 26, 27

From CDT staff reportsOctober 19, 2013

Cadettes in Girl Scout Troop 1152 will give away native plants they rescued from the empty bed of Lake Perez before the lake is refilled.

Boneset, steeplebush, Joe-Pye weed, and red and white pine trees will be given away during the Shaver’s Creek Fall Harvest Festival on Oct. 26 and 27. The group will accept donations.

Anyone interested also can help the troop from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 2 at Shaver’s Creek, when they will relocate plants, rain or shine.

The work is part of the troop’s Silver Award project, focusing on community service. Call Karen for more information at 237-9107.
