State College AAUW and Discovery Space host science events

The American Association of University Women and Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania will sponsor two science events celebrating women in science, technology, engineering and math.

On Nov. 1, the museum will host activities related to the work of Marie Curie, who researched radium. The event takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. at the museum, 112 W. Foster Ave., and is for kids and students of all ages. It is free to museum members and costs $6 for nonmembers.

On Nov. 6, the museum will host a “Marie Curie Science Café,” with speakers, refreshments and wine. The event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Registration is required by calling the museum at 234-0200. The cost to attend is $10.
