October 19, 2013

— The Air Force Academy scored twice in the first six minutes and never trailed to hand Penn State its first loss of the season 5-2 Friday night.

Holm and Thomas put Air Force up 2-0 by 5:56 into the game, and following an Eric Scheid goal three minutes later, the Falcons added three more unanswered goals to take command.

Luke Juha closed the scoring for the Nittany Lions with an unassisted power play goal with 3:38 left. Jonathan Milley and Mark Yanis picked up assists on the first score.

In his first action of the season, freshman goalie Eamon McAdam made 27 saves as Penn State was outshot 32-28.

The teams meet again at 9 p.m. Saturday to close the two-game series in the Nittany Lions’ first road trip of the season.
