As I wind my way through the roads of Centre County, I have been taking time to admire the beauty of the fall season. The autumn colors are something I have grown to appreciate over the years.
Having grown up here, its something I never really thought about until I lived in Texas for 10 years. There arent really seasons there; its mostly just hot or hotter. Over time, I really missed the changing of the seasons.
Returning to State College, I have come to appreciate how wonderful it is to watch these ever-changing cycles.
For me, it gives me something to look forward to. Each time of year offers unique things. Whether its the first crisp, cool autumn morning or the day you finally get to put on shorts after a long cold winter.
This year, I am living in the moment taking time to enjoy whats here now. The beautiful colors, these foggy mornings that slowly burn away to unveil every shade of yellow, red and orange. Its an amazing time of year to be relished.
Look around, see the magnificence of this place where we live. And in the back of your head, know that first snowfall is coming soon.
And it, too, will be lovely.
