Weight restrictions posted on 2 more Centre County bridges

From CDT staff reportsOctober 21, 2013

As of Friday, two more Centre County bridges were posted with weight restrictions to slow their deterioration until more funding becomes available.

The first is on state Route 26 near Howard, over Lick Run. The bridge is now posted for 36 tons for single vehicles and 40 tons for combination vehicles.

The other is on state Route 45 (Penns Valley Road) over Pine Creek, near Woodward. That bridge is now posted for 33 tons for single vehicles and 40 tons for combination vehicles.

According to state Department of Transportation information, that still allows most vehicles to cross, including a loaded school bus and the average fire truck.
