Campus Corner: State College graduate helps Juniata to football win

Colton Myers played a key role in the Juniata football team’s 28-7 upset of unbeaten Ursinus on Saturday.

Myers caught two passes for 11 yards and a touchdown and also contributed a tackle in the win for the Eagles, who have improved to a 4-2 record.

For the season, the State College graduate has caught 13 passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns and has made two tackles.


Michael John (Philipsburg-Osceola, Juniata) has carried the ball 37 times for 134 yards and a touchdown. He also has returned five kickoffs for 111 yards.

Kurt Walker (P-O, Shippensburg) has 10 solo tackles, five assists and one quarterback hurry. Shippensburg is now 5-2.

Colby Way (State College, Buffalo) has 12 solo tackles and 10 assists. He has 7 1/2 tackles for loss for minus-46 yards, five sacks for minus-39 yards, one quarterback hurry and one blocked kick. Buffalo is 5-2.

Alex Boumerhi (P-O, Lock Haven) has made 6 of 9 field goal attempts and 9 of 12 PAT kicks. He is second on the team in scoring with 27 points.

Bernard Smack (State College, Lock Haven) has six catches for 43 yards and has returned 14 kicks for 293 yards. Lock Haven is 2-5.

Sam Rodgers (State College, Syracuse) remains the starting long snapper. Syracuse is 3-4.

Jon Cox (State College, Franklin & Marshall) has eight solo tackles and seven assists. He has one-half tackle for loss and one blocked kick. F&M is 4-2.


Andy Blunk (State College, Juniata) has two goals and three assists in 14 games. Juniata is 11-2-2.

Anthony Glossner (Penns Valley, Juniata) has taken seven shots in 14 games.

Reese Fisher (State College, Juniata) has played in nine games.

Ally Reid (State College, F&M) has two assists. F&M is 5-5-3.

David Trunzo (State College, St. Francis) has one goal. St. Francis is 9-3-3.

Katelyn Gill (State College, Alvernia) has a goal and has taken eight shots. Alvernia is 9-6-1.

Kelsey Gill (State College, Alvernia) has five goals and has taken 42 shots.

Izabel Scott (State College, Slippery Rock) has started 13 games on defense. Slippery Rock is 10-2-1.

Megan Porter (State College, Geneva) has three assists. Geneva is 4-10.

Katie Deardorff (Penns Valley, Lebanon Valley) has a pair of goals and an assist. She has taken 16 shots. Lebanon Valley is 8-5-2.

Kathleen Warner (State College, Clarion) has a goal and has taken three shots.

Liz Ventura (Penns Valley, Clarion) has a goal and two assists while taking 12 shots. Clarion is 4-6-3.

Dieter Bahr (State College, Delaware) has played in five games. Delaware is 10-3.

Elle Matalavage (State College, Paul Smith’s) has eight goals and five assists. Paul Smith’s is 9-3-1.


Julia Elkin (State College, Muhlenberg) has a kill, seven assists, 24 digs and four aces. Muhlenberg is 16-8.

Alexandra Fleagle (State College, Slippery Rock) has 37 kills, 32 assists, 11 aces, 100 digs and 12 blocks. Slippery Rock is 9-17.

Randi Leath (State College, DePaul) has 99 kills, six assists, one ace, 12 digs and 55 blocks. DePaul is 15-4.

Megan Flick (Bald Eagle Area, Lock Haven) has 202 kills, 11 assists, 23 aces, 201 digs and nine blocks. Lock Haven is 17-9.

Kendra Fetzer (BEA, Lock Haven) has 57 kills, 123 assists, 18 aces, 78 digs and 18 blocks.

Suzanne Horner (State College, Miss. State) has 40 kills, 739 assists, 22 aces, 135 digs and 23 blocks. Mississippi State is 11-9.

Emma Weakland (State College, Winthrop) has 20 kills, an ace, eight digs and five blocks. Winthrop is 11-10.

Kayla Confer (BEA, Lebanon Valley) has 227 kills, nine assists, 29 aces, 49 digs and 22 blocks. Lebanon Valley is 24-4.

Elizabeth Horner (State College, Pennsylvania) is out for the season for medical reasons.

Field hockey

Mikaela Sloan (State College, Juniata) has a goal and an assists. Juniata is 8-8.

Tori Patrick (State College, Washington & Jefferson) has four assists in eight games. W&J is 10-5.

Brenna Boehman (State College, Haverford) has two assists. Haverford is 7-6.

Cross country

Jason Doll (State College, Delaware Valley) posted a time of 30 minutes, 39.8 seconds and finished 41st among 88 runners in the Hood University Open.

Matt Brooker (Penns Valley, Cedarville) was second in the Applachian State Open in 24:28, a personal best for the 8 kilometers. Cedarville placed second as a team.

Ryan Brown (Penns Valley, Robert Morris) ran a 28:38 to place 31st in the Penn State National Invitational.


Chris Borden (State College George Mason) had a singles win over Penn State and losses to Norfolk State, Binghamton and VCU at the UVA Fall Classic at Virginia. He is 5-4 in singles and 4-4 in doubles.

Blake Gregory (State College, East Carolina ) has a 4-3 record in singles and 4-2 in doubles.
