Letter to the editor | What voter fraud?

October 22, 2013

Commonwealth Secretary Carol Aichele, in a letter Thursday on Pennsylvania’s voter ID law, says she thinks this law will “provide a common-sense way to identify each voter at the polls.”

The purpose of Pennsylvania’s voter ID law is not to identify each voter at the polls.

Mike Turzai, the Republican majority leader of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, has clearly stated that the purpose of this law, which was enacted by a Republican-controlled legislature and signed by a Republican governor, is to suppress voting by Pennsylvanians who might vote for candidates other than Republicans.

His comments can be viewed on YouTube by searching Mike Turzai and voter ID.
