Heating Energy Assistance Guidelines!

Hello Everyone,

      The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps low income people pay their heating bills through energy assistance and crisis grants.  It is a federally funded program.  The LIHEAP program will open on November 4, 2013. 

     The income limit for the LIHEAP program is unchanged from last year and will remain at 150% of the federal poverty level income guidelines.  Here are the numbers:


HOUSEHOLD SIZE                                          INCOME LIMIT

One Person                                                     $17,235

Two People                                                     $23,265

Three People                                                   $29,295

Four People                                                     $35,325

Five People                                                      $41,355

**Six and over, please add $6,030 a person

  Completed applications should be sent to your local County Assistance Office.  As Always, applicants are encouraged to apply online at  www.compass.state.pa.us
