Girls volleyball: Philipsburg-Osceola sends seniors out with victory

From CDT staff reportsOctober 23, 2013

— Plenty of seniors shed tears and contributed to a win as Philipsburg-Osceola swept Clearfield 25-13, 25-4, 25-12 Tuesday night to close the regular season.

“It was a really great senior night,” P-O coach Dave Eckberg said. “It was an emotional mess. I haven’t seen them get like this. Even though they know they will continue to play, it still was tough.”

One of those seniors to assist in the win was Jordyn Walstrom, who ran off 21 points on her serve, including six aces. The Lady Mounties (27-5, 13-1 Mountain League) also got nine kills from Kylie Scovern, six kills from Emily Bush-Clark, 27 assists from McKenzie Burge and three digs from Elizabeth Robertson.

P-O figures to be a high seed when it next takes the court in the District 6 Class AA tournament next week.
